Marta is the editor for the European Space Agency’s Φ-lab and for the European Commission’s Destination Earth initiative, on behalf of EUMETSAT.
Based in the Netherlands, Marta holds an MSc. Degree in Biological Engineering (Instituto Superior Técnico) and was a researcher in immunology and oncology at Instituto de Medicina Molecular and Champalimaud Foundation (2020-2023).
Passionate about Science Communication, Marta participated in several independent activities and was a member of Soapbox Science Lisbon, an outreach initiative dedicated to promoting the work developed by female scientists in STEMM fields.
In April 2025, Marta started her own SciComm project in Portuguese, @data.from.mars, to share the wonders of Earth observation research.
