Dan freelances for EJR-Quartz and supports the communication activities of the European Space Agency, and other clients. Previously, he was news and then features editor at Flight International in London, with responsibility for coverage of management and strategy, research and technology, and spaceflight.
As a journalist he has also covered the motor, shipping and cycle industries, after doing a first-job stint in Japan to speak and write English for an international art agency. The transport theme is probably a coincidence, though his earthly passion is cycling and he’s just old enough to remember watching the Apollo 11 landing – or to have memories of remembering it – on his family’s black-and-white TV at home in Los Angeles.
