Dan is part of the team supporting the German Aerospace Center (DLR). Previously he supported the European Space Agency’s space transportation directorate, and other EJR-Quartz clients. His experience as an aerospace reporter comes from a decade as news and then features editor at Flight International in London, where he was responsible for coverage of management and strategy, research and technology, and spaceflight.
As a journalist he has also covered the motor, shipping and cycle industries, after doing a first-job stint in Japan to speak and write English for an international art agency. The transport theme is probably a coincidence, though his earthly passion is cycling and he’s just old enough to remember watching the Apollo 11 landing – or to have memories of remembering it – on his family’s black-and-white TV at home in Los Angeles.
