Kes is an intern at EJR-Quartz, gaining experience as a science writer and editor. He is half American and half Dutch, though he lived most of his life in the U.S. in the town of Trumbull, Connecticut. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Connecticut and more recently, his Master of Science in Evolutionary Biology and Science Communication at Leiden University.
He has a blog and a YouTube channel that he works on in his free time, and a number of hobbies such as kickboxing, hiking in nature, and playing guitar/singing. He also loves animals and hopes to have several dogs and cats.
